Chief Procurement Officer for the City of Detroit, appointed in October 2013. Boysie’s career also spans over 30 years at General Motors where he held numerous key Global Executive Leadership positions in Global Purchasing & Supply Chain, Engineering, Supplier Development, Procurement Systems and Plant Operations.
CSince Boysie’s tenure as the Chief Procurement Officer for the City of Detroit, he has implemented several systems for Procurement, Financial Management, Transportation, Public Health & Safety and Public Works. His work negotiating major construction, engineering, water system improvements, fleet, neighborhood development projects and general services has been recognized throughout the State of Michigan. Lastly, he has successfully helped the City of Detroit emerge from an Emergency Manager and a Financial Management Commission.
CMr. Jackson, is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and educated at the Lean Toyota Production Facility in California. In 2015, Boysie was voted Purchasing Manager of the Year by the Michigan Public Purchasing Officer’s Association and now currently serves as the President for the Michigan Public Purchasing Officers Association. He also, serves as a Board Member on the Strategic Planning Committee and serves on the National Oracle Public Procurement System Advisory Council.
CMr. Jackson is one of the few Procurement Purchasing Leaders, in the United States, with practical experience helping the Largest Public Municipality and the Largest Corporation successfully emerge from Bankruptcy. He is a member of several Purchasing and Supply Chain Organizations throughout the Country serving as a consultant on restructuring, lean, benchmarking & best practices.
CHe earned his BBA degree with honors from University of North Carolina – Fayetteville State University and completed several Corporate Chairman Sponsored Executive MBA Leadership Programs nationally at University of Virginia Darden School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, Yale University and University of Michigan.
